Green fingers?

I've not had much time to do mini stuff lately :(

I've been working a bit on the new sweet shop front and will hopefully be ready to share some pics soon.

I have also made a pot plant and vase of flowers for woodcutters cottage. Hope you like them!

Decorating the shop

Yesterday I gave the interior of the shop a couple of coats of paint to seal the wood.

I also cut and stained the floor in a lovely red mahogany. The floor isn't stuck down - that's why it's not flat!

Today I papered the ceiling with embossed paper and wallpapered the walls.

I have also been working on the shop front and will add pics once the glue has dried.

A new shop!

I have a new project! Yes I know, another one. Well woodcutters cottage is almost finished, just needs accessories and bits and pieces that will be added over time.

So here it is...

I will be turning it into a sweet shop!

Time to learn to use polymer clay and make some sweets, there's going to be lots of shelves to fill!

Last curtains for woodcutters cottage

Today I finished the last of the curtains for woodcutters cottage, the bedroom ones.
The wood above the bedroom window bowed while the glue was drying but I didn't notice until it was too late :( it doesn't look as bad in RL as it does in the pic!

A pic of them all done:

The roof is finished at last!

I have finally finished the roof on woodcutters cottage.

I have used Richard Stacey ridge tiles to match the roof tiles. The chimney pots are also from Richard Stacey.

I would definitely recommend the Richard Stacey versi range, they are realistic, so easy to use and very light weight!

Curtains!

I have been busy curtain making for woodcutters cottage.

I have made curtains for the lounge and the kitchen.

The lounge has a lace curtain under the long curtains

The kitchen has a pleated pelmet with matching tie backs

I also added a pull to the bathroom blind

Now I need to make curtains for the bedroom... A job for another day!

I have been working on the front of woodcutters cottage.

The windows and door are now fitted.

I have filled some window boxes and some terracotta pots.

The garden has a path and grass.

A blind for the bathroom

Unfortunately, today I didn't get much time to mini :-(

I did make a roller blind for the bathroom in woodcutters cottage, and got it fixed up

Dressing gown

Today I have made a dressing gown to go in the bathroom of woodcutters, I found the pattern and tutorial on Pinterest. hope you like it!

Wednesday 1 April 2015

Just a few little bits

I have made a couple of shelves for the kitchen, painted them white and added a lace trim to the edge. I have also added the same lace trim to the shelves on the dresser.

In the lounge I have put up some coat hooks.

Woodcutters cottage, the bathroom now looks like a bathroom!

Today I have been playing around with the bathroom in woodcutters cottage.

We now have a working light!

I have made some shelves, one for above the sink, and a three shelf unit above the bath. They have been painted white and have a pretty lace trim on the edge of each shelf.

I have added a few accessories to the shelves; face cloths, perfume bottles, toothbrush and toothpaste.

I have made some towels with a lace trim too.

The bathroom in woodcutters cottage

There is a lot of wood in the bathroom so I thought a nice white suite would brighten it up, also a few white accessories.

And we have lights!

Today I wired up all of the lights in woodcutters cottage.

They were all working before being installed... Now the bathroom light is not working :( I have changed the bulb, wiggled it about and nothing! So it will have to come out to be fixed or replaced.

Here's a few pics of the rest of the house lit up

The kitchen

The lounge

The bedroom

The bathroom to be updated soon hopefully!

Beams!

As there are no ceilings in the upstairs of woodcutters cottage and the roof is fixed, there is a huge empty space! So I decided to put some beams in there... Lots of beams! This will also give me somewhere to fix lights to.

Such a shame you can only see them if you bend down :-D

Working up to the very top :0)

The roof has now been tiled, I still have to add the ridge tiles but will put them on once the roof has beed glued on.

I used versi tiles from Richard Stacey, they are double sided; one lighter and one darker. I used the darker side.

Oh and I also changed the bedroom carpet for a darker one.

Crochet

I have crochet a throw for the bed in woodcutters cottage.

I used #10 cotton crochet thread. I didn't use a pattern but it is just the same as a granny square with extra rows and a lace edging.

In this pic you can also see the dressing table stool that I have recovered in fabric to match the bed.

A bed for woodcutters

I have recovered the mattress, and made a quilt and pillows for the bed in woodcutters cottage.

I used micro glass beads to fill the pillows so they have some weight and don't 'float' like puffs of air.

As you can see, I have also placed some furniture and a rug in the room.

Woodcutters Cottage, decorating the last room

The bathroom!

I have given this room a varnished wooden floor and wall panelling, it has been wallpapered in a leafy vine paper on the top.

Woodcutters Cottage bedroom

Moving upwards to the bedroom.

I have wallpapered with a lovely floral paper, fitted the carpet, added skirting boards and fixed the banister.

More work to Woodcutters cottage lounge

I'm really enjoying working on this room, it's just falling into place easily.

I have made the sofa from scratch. Then made some cushions to finish it off.
The cushions have been filled with micro glass granules to give them weight and 'sag'.

Finished the banisters on the stairs.

Added the skirting boards and re-fitted the coving.

I bought some barewood furniture and rocking chair and varnished them. Made a seat pad, footstool and crochet a cushion for the rocking chair.

Built and stained some small shelves.

Made a new lampshade for the lamp in the corner.

You can see in the picture below, I had a bit of an accident with the light - I broke one of the shades :-( a new light is on the to do list!
